Service and Support FAQ
How can I have my brailler repaired or serviced?
If you live in the United States, you have several options.
- You may ship it to any of the authorized repair centers listed online. Contact the local repair center for information on how to ship the brailler and the cost of repair.
- Send it to Perkins Products, 175 North Beacon St., Watertown, MA, 02472 Attn: Peter Avery. Include a note with the brailler explaining the problem, and giving your name, phone number and credit card number. Most repairs are between $80 and $125, usually closer to $80, including parts (unless the brailler is very damaged). You will be contacted after the repair is completed with the final cost, unless the cost exceeds $125. Repairs often are included under the Federal Quota System and therefore may qualify for reimbursement. Turnaround time is usually within one week of receipt of the brailler.
- If you are shipping within the United States, the brailler can be shipped from you to the repair center free, categorized as ‘Free Matter for the Blind’. Contact your local post office for instructions.
If you live outside the United States, contact one of the authorized repair centers listed for information on how to ship the brailler and the cost of repair.
